Salon Services would like to congratulate Davines for all the hard work that went into earning the B Corp Award for Best Sustainability Report at the B Corporations Summit.

The summit in Milan last November was designed for B Corps to gather and recognize those who have upheld the mission of blending business with social and environmental accountability to maximize their impact for a better world. It was also the occasion to share with other Italian B Corps the Davines interdependency experience with pallet supplier PALM, who together, are designing a more sustainable pallet for the benefit of companies and the world!

Interdependency, a fundamental value of the movement, is based on the principle that we all depend on each other and, therefore, we are responsible for future generations. Thus, applying this value contributes to creating a world in which companies, through their products, services, projects, and profits, create benefits for everyone.

Here are just a few other ways Davines is using business as a force for good:

• In the last 10 years, Davines has compensated over 7,000 tons of CO2 by preserving green spaces around the world.
• They have saved more than 8.4 tons of plastic since repackaging Essential Haircare in late 2014.
• Davines promotes biodiversity by sourcing ingredients from slow food Presidia farms.
• Their I Sustain Beauty Campaign celebrates the development of social, environmental, and artistic beauty projects.

Davines’ report was a critical collective project, the fruit of the work of all company departments to improve results on issues such as environmental sustainability, impact on collaborators, and the community.

Certified B Corporations not only redefine success in business among themselves—they aim to change how non-B Corps operate. Individually, B Corps meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability, and aspire to use the power of markets to solve social and environmental problems.
