Vantage Point - 10/20

10.20.2020

Valued Resources

Salon Services continues to build the resources that we believe are important to you and your staff. With this Vantage Point, I wanted to share what we have slated for you and your team to learn as personal perspective.

We understand that in speaking with you, there is a high level of stress, anxiety and divisiveness within society at large and with our own staff. Issues of needing to home school, the lack of occupancy, plus pivoting without certainty for everyone is detrimental.

We have engaged two presenters that live in the world of coaching on personal development. Creating boundaries to allow staff to be empathetic and compassionate plus not take on the energy of the clients/staff discussions that are disconcerting for them.

As a new cosmetologist, just out of school, I had the opportunity to be in a class with Lew Losconcy as he had just written a book for our industry in the 1970’s. It was called Psy-Cosmetoligist as he determined with clients that the salon industry was the avenue of advice however, not with the skills to create the boundaries to allow them to not be personally affected but to give feedback without taking the emotional content into their psyche. It was a very enlightening understanding for me to realize my opportunity to give support and not believe it was my responsibility.

Both of the following events are gifts to you as our way of saying thank you for all the support you give to Salon Services:

The first presenter is Deanna Davis PhD as she presents Chaos to Calm. Hosted on 10/26/2020, 11/2/2020 and 11/9/2020 - all at 10:30am and 5:00pm. Offering 30 minute opportunities to session on MindFull to MINDFull, Space Pace & Grace, and AM, PM & TM for moments to gather your emotions with focus of self and activities for positivity creation in your life. Register for Deanna’s sessions through your Sales Consultant.

Natasha Cecere is a personal/business coach that will be presenting Hair-apy in Covid series. November 2nd at 9:00 - 10:15am PST and the November 9th 9:00 - 10:15am PST. Her topics will be on what to say and what not to say, emphatic listening skills, compassion, creating a team environment for self care and deescalation of tense situations. We are limited to 100 guests so please contact your consultant or our education department to receive a private zoom invite.

Additionally, we are working on dates for complimentary classes focused on financial learning and guidance with Kopsa-Otte and Associates in December to leverage retail sales and support your financial shift. January to be on tax scenarios, and February to launch our business financial budgeting with guidance. Lots more to come!

With this post, I wanted you all to understand that we listen and want to support you in your scenarios plus challenges. It is our mission to Encourage Personal Mastery while being the Protectors of our Industry. Letting us know your needs, helps us to determine how we can be your valued resource as YOU MATTER to US!

Sincerely,
